AUSTIN Heating Technology manufactures custom made cartridge heaters for any application. Electric cartridge rod heaters are a versatile and economical heat source for a wide variety of industrial and commercial applications.
Standard tube diameters are 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 16mm, but other special sizes are available for cartridge heaters. Depending on the diameter, lengths can be supplied up to 6000mm. Standard sheath materials are Stainless Steel 201, 304, 316 and 321, but special sheath materials may be available based on diameter and size of the element required.
Electric cartridge heaters provide superior heat transfer, uniform temperatures, resistance to oxidation and corrosion and long life even at high temperatures. Flexible lead wire extensions or other mounting options are available for specific applications.

1.Resistor core assembly is accurately spaced close to the outer sheath for efficient heat transfer. 2.Initial heater diameter is reduced, thus increasing the density of the assembly, resulting in a heating source which exhibits exceptional dielectric strength and heat transfer characteristics. 3.End disc is always welded in place, preventing contaminants from entering the heater.
*Water Heating:We recommend 10 watts per square centimetre when cartridges are to be immersed in water because the water removes the energy from the element very effectively. Commonly used as a chemical solutions heater.
*Oil Heating:Commonly used as engine sump heaters. When heating some oils, only 2 watts per square centimetre can be used otherwise the high cartridge heater surface temperature causes the oil to oxidise and carbon to be built-up on the surface of the heater. When this occurs, the carbon can thermally insulate the cartridge heater, causing the unit to heat up internally, often resulting in electrical failure.
*Air Heating:Elements of approximately 1 watt per square centimetre are suitable for convection air heating, eg. Anti-condensation heaters.
*Die Heating:Manifolds, hot runners and torpedoes.
*Packaging:Hot melt glue applicators.
